Building Floorplan Creation
To support emergency planning, IT infrastructure, and facilities management, I was asked to update the building floorplans for The Day’s multi-story facility. The project required reconciling original architectural blueprints with current office layouts and safety features.
I conducted several full walkthroughs with the company’s Buildings and Systems staff, sketching updated layouts and documenting relevant changes. Using Adobe Illustrator, I created detailed, visually clean floorplans for all six levels of the building. These updated diagrams were tailored to support safety evacuation planning, IT mapping, and property valuation in preparation for a potential building sale.
Problem or Challenge
Original architectural plans were outdated and did not reflect renovations, changes in workspace layout, safety infrastructure, or IT installations. An updated visual reference was urgently needed to support emergency planning, IT, and facilities decisions.
Tools and Techniques
Adobe Illustrator, technical sketching, blueprint interpretation, multi-floor mapping, collaboration with Buildings and Systems team.
Result
Delivered a complete, multi-level floorplan set used by safety and facilities teams and referenced for IT infrastructure planning. Provided visual clarity and cross-departmental utility in a format easily updated for future changes.
